SOME OF THE SMARTPHONES THAT WILL LOSS WHATSAPP SUPPORT BY THE END OF THIS YEAR
Soon WhatsApp will end support
for the various Operating Systems such as Nokia’s popular Symbian OS,
BlackBerry, Android smartphones and iPhone 3GS from 1.1.2017. Though
these mobile devices have been an important part of their story, as now
they don’t offer the kind of capabilities.
Smartphones To Lose WhatsApp Support By End Of This Year
WhatsApp is a useful instant messaging services
around the world, competing primarily against its rival Telegram, hence
it proceeds much success. As described in its blog, when WhatsApp began
their wanderings in 2009, the mobile ecosystem was very different: at
that time about 70 percent of smartphones were sold at the time had
operating systems offered by BlackBerry and Nokia.
Facebook-owned messaging app WhatsApp had announced that
soon it will end support for the various Operating Systems from 2017,
including the Nokia’s popular Symbian OS and BlackBerry, including
BlackBerry 10, as the reasons are more predictable: today 99% of people
do not use these operating systems. Hence, to maintain support and
updates for them are just waste of money by WhatsApp, so at the end of
2016, WhatsApp will stop working on them.
In figures, Android 2.2 Froyo occupied only 0.1% of all
Android devices on the market last January, while Symbian operating
system died in May 2014. BlackBerry has already taken the step to
fabricate devices with Android and Windows Phone has already reached its
version 10, leaving obsolete so your older version 7.1.
The solution is obvious: upgrade to the king of today’s
operating systems: Android, iOS or Windows Phone. The cheapest solution
is certainly Android because you can get a phone at the full version for
less than Rs.5,000 (less than $100). No doubt, Facebook-owned messaging
app WhatsApp will maintain them for many years yet. Obviously, this is
not bad news for WhatsApp, which recently reached one billion users,
earning 100 million in just the last 4 months.
But, this does not mean that WhatsApp will stop working
overnight on your old mobile, basically, it will end support for
WhatsApp Messenger on the mobile platforms such as BlackBerry (including
BlackBerry 10), Nokia S40, Nokia Symbian S60, Android 2.1 and Android
2.2, Windows Phone 7.1 and iPhone, as WhatsApp haven’t made any
fundamental changes to its communication protocol. While these mobile
devices have been played an important part of their story, as now they
don’t offer the kind of capabilities.
So here is the list of Smartphones that won’t get anymore support from WhatsApp from 1.1.2017:-
